Oh and Day 14 ? A non-fictional book

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives cookbook

30 day meme )

And for those of you interested, here is a brief history on my post about my family yesterday.

My family name isn't famous really, more infamous.

The Hatfields and The McCoys the wiki page.

Devil Anse Hatfield He was actually my Great-great grandfather. I actually have an original picture much like the one on the page at home.

Countless books and movies were made. Even Bugs Bunny Cartoons had The Martins(cousins of ours) and the Coys. Why they changed the names, I don't know since everyone at the time knew who they were supposed to be.

The Hatfield-McCoy feud is also said to be the inspiration for the game show, Family Feud.

There was a Scooby-Doo episode involving the Hatfields and McCoys, in which the Hatfields have ended up living in the McCoys' cabin after their own cabin was washed away in a storm. They are haunted by the ghost of Old Witch McCoy, a woman executed for witchcraft years before, until the gang unmasks her as one of a pair of bank robbers who have come to the area to find their loot.

Personally, I like that my family name is infamous. That is one of the reasons that I took my maiden name back when I got divorced.

People feel the need to talk to me. I don't want them to but they do it anyway. So, this guy is trying to make conversation with me and notices my last name.

Our short conversation.

"Hatfield? Any relation to the feuding Hatfields?"
I'm still typing, "Same ones. My Great Grandfather was Devil Anse."
"Really? Bet you got teased about it growing up."
"Not really. It's hard to tease someone about their mass murdering family."
Silence.

1. Pick 20 of your favourite movies.
2. Go to IMDB, and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.

I sent out some random coupons from eljay this morning along with the requested ones. If you don't want it and I sent it to you, just decline it so it can be credited back to me and I can give it to someone else.

Last night was the Christmas program at the boys school. David had a speaking part as Isaac the Angel and he did a marvelous job. *beams* Daniel was a backup snowflake. lol
It was fun. Then mom and I went to Walmart and finished our Christmas shopping. Almost. I still need to buy my dad a gift and I have to take the boys to buy a gift for each other tomorrow. Then stocking stuffers but, I can get those at the dollar store.

This morning I was running kinda late to work because I had to take in cupcakes, napkins and drinks to the boys classrooms for their parties today. Then we passed out the teachers' gifts. One to each of their classroom teachers, one to the librarian (because we ♥ her, she's so awesome) and one to the art teacher.

Day just started and I'm tired already.

Okay, so it seems that as a permanent account holder, I'm entitled to give away 10 coupons for $10 for upgrade for Basic/Plus users. If you hold a basic or plus account and are interested in a reduced upgrade price, please let me know and I'll gladly send you a coupon!

LJ says:

Recipients can upgrade for $9.95 (instead of $19.95) for one year by enrolling in our automatic payment plan or make a manual payment of $15 (instead of $25). Last night I watched Terminator: Salvation. It was a pretty good flick. Of course the whole time all I can hear in my head is Christian Bale shouting, "It's fucking distracting!" So, I was a bit... well... distracted.

I saw this...

Share the love with our $10 holiday coupons! If you're a Paid or Permanent user, you can send up to 10 Basic or Plus users a $10 coupon to upgrade to a one year paid account. Recipients can upgrade for $9.95 (instead of $19.95) for one year by enrolling in our automatic payment plan or make a manual payment of $15 (instead of $25). Please note that these coupons are not transferable and cannot be used to renew existing paid accounts.

...and I thought I would ask if someone's interested. Let me know. Don't hesitate to ask. I can't guess who would like one, and if my oldest friends are not interested or have a paid account already, I don't mind sending the remaining coupons to people I barely know. I screen the comments.

I found this on the internet this morning. Thought I would share.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a east coast resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:
